In 2002, the Eastern Cares program was established to demonstrate acts of caring towards our Company, Communities, Country and Cultures. To date, Eastern Cares has carried out a number of projects such as creating a 501c(3) Charitable Trust for an Associate Emergency Assistance Fund, establishing Associate Scholarship and Adoption Assistance Funds, offering Life and Marriage seminars for our Associates, placing Defibrillators and providing CPR Training for Associates in each of our Branch locations, providing Chaplain services for each Branch location, providing care packages to our soldiers in Iraq, hosting Company-supported Blood Drives, collecting donations to aid Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina victims, just to name a few. With extensive investment in technology, Eastern has formulated a means to conduct business that maintains the personal touch necessary to show commitment and respect to our Customers. For example, Customers are not known nor are they referenced by an account number, but rather by their name. Our investment in technology has greatly benefited our Customers with cost savings. For example, when it comes to processing their payables, we can now provide them with timely proof of deliveries by electronically capturing and including the delivery recipient’s signature on every invoice generated.
