Eastern Industrial Supplies, Inc. established the Eastern Cares program in 2002 dedicated to four main “Cs” of caring focusing on:
- COMPANY
- COMMUNITY
- COUNTRY
- CULTURE

In caring for our Company, Eastern partners with Marketplace Chaplains USA, an outreach ministry that provides teams of professionally-trained, experienced Chaplains who extend compassionate care to our most valuable asset—our Associates and their families.

Other acts of care at Eastern include:
- Associate Emergency Fund—lending financial support in times of crisis, reaching out to one another, promoting a culture of care
- Educational Assistance Fund—assisting Associates in furthering their education and training to best meet their career objectives
- Scholarship Fund—awarding four-year scholarships to children or grandchildren of regular, full-time Associates
- Adoption Assistance—lending support to Associates who are establishing families
- Weekend-to-Remember Marriage Enrichment Seminars
- Brown-Bag Lunch Bible/Book Studies
- Christmas Candlelight Services
- Defibrillators and CPR Training at each of our branch locations

Eastern demonstrates care and commitment to our local communities through participation in outreach projects such as:
- Cares Fund—lending support to meet financial needs within our communities
- Community Blood Drives (to date, Eastern Associates have donated nearly 400 units)
- Miracle Hill Ministries (Greenville, SC) Christmas for Children and Families
- Christ-At-Work Businessmen’s Study Group
- Homes for Life for Youth (Upstate South Carolina)
- Campus Crusade for Christ
- Fellowship of Christian Athletes
- Greenville, SC Disabilities Center

Eastern’s commitment to care and concern for others has extended well beyond the company and our branch localities, taking part in national outreach efforts such as:
- March of Dimes WalkAmerica
- National Breast Cancer Awareness
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Awareness
- Care Packages for U.S. Troops in Iraq
- Hurricane Katrina Relief
- Helping Hands Ministry-Atlanta, GA

Eastern’s care for other cultures is exemplified through our Eastern Cares Mission Work Program, supporting Associates with paid leave to take part in mission-oriented projects, whether at home or to distant corners of the world. To date, our Associates have traveled to Wyoming, Romania, Dominican Republic, Peru, Kenya, and Tanzania in service to others.

In addition, Eastern’s care was demonstrated through company-matched donations (up to $5,000) to aid in the relief efforts after the devastating Thailand Tsunami in December 2004.
